Cook's Tips and Recipes

  • Apart from steaks, fish, vegetables etc., remember to use your ridged frypan/griddle to make easy, delicious toasted sandwiches. (The Scanpan Griddle with a ceramic titanium finish is particularly good!)

    Simply place your favourite filling between 2 slices of bread, butter the outsides and press down on a very hot griddle for a few minutes to brown and heat through. Turn and repeat on the other side.

  • Easy after-work family favourite. Place 4 chicken breasts close together in a shallow oven-proof dish. Pour on a jar of good quality pesto (or if you have time, whizz up your own in a food processor!) Cover with foil, put in moderate oven for 20 minutes. Remove, sprinkle pine nuts and grated parmesan on top. Return to oven, uncovered for another 20 minutes. Serve with salad and new potatoes. Delicious!
  • Remove the stone from an avocado in one easy action. One sharp tap and a twist with a heavy knife then out pops the stone.

  • A quick simple way to defrost food is to place it on a sheet of aluminium i.e. aluminium roasting/baking tray, frying pan.
